Getting started

Start a project, drag your photos in, FlashDesign the book, then export. The whole workflow end to end, without the detail.

Open the downloaded DMG, drag BookProofs into Applications, then open it from there. macOS will confirm it was downloaded from the internet: click Open. The first launch takes 30 to 45 seconds while macOS runs its security check, and the Dock icon bounces until it finishes. That's normal, and later launches are much faster.

Run the downloaded installer. If Windows SmartScreen says it protected your PC, click More info, then Run anyway. That warning is normal for software Windows hasn't seen many times yet. Setup runs on its own in under a minute and BookProofs opens when it finishes. After that, launch it from the Start menu or the desktop shortcut.

The shortcuts panel is in the top toolbar. Worth learning if you design a lot of albums to save even more time. Newer ones include L to switch the Templates panel between Best fit and Full library, | for Order by Library, and Cmd/Ctrl+, to open Settings.

The ? in the header, the Help menu, or F1 on Windows all open this searchable help section. Search any topic and nearly every answer links to the exact moment in the video that shows it. Question mark icons at key spots in the app open the matching topic directly.

The tour can be closed at any point, and replayed whenever you like from the ? menu in the header.
